High Achievers Scholarship and Presidential Special Scholarship was handed over

The Presidential Special Scholarship and High Achievers Scholarship, were awarded to 155 students who completed the 2022 Upper Secondary Examination.

This year, 17 students were awarded Presidential Special Scholarships and 138 High Achievers Scholarships.

The purpose of the President's Special Scholarship is to encourage students to study and achieve good results in upper secondary level. The President's Special Scholarship is awarded for undergraduate or less than undergraduate studies. The scholarship offers the opportunity to study in any country in any field.

17 students who completed the 2022 higher secondary examination received special scholarships from the President. The 138 students who received High Achievement Scholarships were presented with certificates by the First Lady Fazna Ahmed and several government ministers.

Of the students who received government scholarships, 102 were girls.

The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Arun Jaitley, presented the scholarships at the ceremony. Ibrahim Hassan said the number of students receiving Presidential Special Scholarships and High Achievers Scholarships has tripled this year. The Minister said the government is making a lot of efforts to provide educational opportunities to Dhvehi students from different parts of the world. In addition, the Minister said that TIVET centers have been established in different parts of the country to provide higher education in rural areas.

"Different countries are providing study opportunities. Your students come to study and serve this country. They are the future of this country. Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan said.

The scholarships are awarded to students who have obtained A.Star in five subjects including Islam and Dhvehi or have obtained A.Star in all subjects in the Shahada Secondary Examination. They also include students who have obtained a grade of "C" or above in English in GCE A/L/IGCSC or equivalent examination.

According to the rules of the scholarship, students must take advantage of this opportunity within the next 18 months.
